The challenge.

  • Data quantity and quality

    Bouwmaat faced challenges with the quantity and quality of their product data. They lacked sufficient details and accurate features to give customers the information they needed. This hindered their ability to provide the comprehensive advice they aimed for.

  • Data structure discrepancies

    Bouwmaat’s product data needed to align with their suppliers' data, which had different structures. The mismatch created complications when trying to map suppliers’ data to Bouwmaat’s existing data set, limiting the ability to enrich the product features.

  • Ineffective web extraction

    Although the team attempted to use web extraction for data enrichment, the functionality didn’t deliver the expected volume of data. Some product features could not be extracted, posing another hurdle in their efforts to enhance their product information.

    Squadra Machine Learning Company assisted with a proof-of-concept, integrating PowerEnrich.ai and PowerClass.ai. These solutions enabled the extraction of data from supplier websites to fill in missing product features, improving the existing data set.

  • AI-powered data mapping

    Squadra’s AI solutions helped map the data between Bouwmaat and its suppliers, helping to better understand and align the different data structures. This allowed for a more consistent integration of the suppliers' data into Bouwmaat's database.

  • Manual adjustments for data consistency

    To address discrepancies in the data, manual adjustments were made to ensure the mapping was accurate. This combination of AI and manual work helped fill in gaps and improve data consistency, ensuring better data quality.
