Frequently asked questions.

Didn’t find your answer here? Just want to know more about AI in product data, or do you have a custom project for us? Just send us a message and we’ll help in no time.

What can I do with PowerClass?

PowerClass allows you to categorize products and map features to the correct data model. You can choose to use both functions together for more complete data or focus on one of the two. The tool adapts to the way you want to structure and improve your product information.

Can I use multiple data models?

Yes, you can work with multiple data models at the same time. For example, you can categorize your products based on your own website structure as well as external platforms like Amazon, Bol or GTIN. This allows you to reuse your data efficiently across different channels.

Can a product be assigned to multiple categories within the same data model?

Yes, this is possible. A single product can be placed in multiple categories within the same data model. This is useful when a product appears in different contexts such as both an accessory and part of a set.

Can images be used?

Yes, you can use product images during the review process. This makes it easier to understand which group a product belongs to and helps you verify if the classification is correct.

What is a data model and how do I provide one?

A data model is an overview of how your data is structured and how different elements relate to each other. It shows what types of information you store (such as products or categories), what attributes belong to them (like color or material), and how these elements are connected.

Simply put: a data model is the blueprint for organizing and enriching your information in a logical way.

A data model includes:

  • A list of categories, such as Shoes, Sweaters, or T-shirts.

  • For each category, a list of attributes you want to enrich, such as color, material, or gender.

You can provide a data model in an Excel or CSV file, or coordinate this with your implementation partner.

What’s the difference between Product Review and Bulk Review?

Product Review shows one product at a time and gives instant AI feedback on your actions. You can immediately review changes and see their impact.

Bulk Review displays multiple products at once. This allows for faster processing of larger volumes, but the AI only learns after a bulk extraction (manual recalculation).

Use Product Review for precise fine-tuning, and Bulk Review for faster validation of larger datasets.

What happens if I change the taxonomy class on the Product Review page?

When you change the taxonomy class (product classification), the AI immediately makes new predictions for that product based on the associated category in your data model. This ensures the correct attributes and values are recognized and enriched again.

What can you do with “Rules”?

With Rules, you can manually define how specific terms should be interpreted.

For example:
If the text “With strain relief” appears in a product description, it should automatically be linked to the attribute “Strain relief” with the value “Yes”.

Use Rules to:

  • Enforce specific terms or combinations as fixed attributes.

  • Ensure consistency in cases with varying descriptions.

  • Save time when reviewing recurring situations.

Why do I not see suggestions for certain features?

Sometimes no suggestions are generated for specific features. This can have the following reasons:

  • There are no product descriptions available. Without text, the model cannot extract any information.

  • The feature is of type ‘string’. A string is a free text field that can contain anything (e.g. iPhone 16 / 16s / 16 mini). Because this field has no fixed structure, it is difficult for the AI to reliably detect or extract information.

In such cases, the feature is ignored and no suggestion will be shown.

What is the difference between the Template module and GenAI?

The Template module and GenAI both help generate product content, but they work in different ways.

  • The Template module gives you full control over the structure and wording of your texts. You manually create sections, add variations, and define conditions. This is ideal when you need consistent formats for marketplaces or webshops.

  • GenAI automatically generates unique product descriptions based on your data and copy guidelines. You do not need to write any text yourself, the AI writes it for you in your preferred style and language.

Benefits of the Template module:

  • Full control over layout and structure

  • Ideal for channels with fixed requirements

  • Supports multiple variations and logic

Benefits of GenAI:

  • Rapid generation of unique content

  • No manual writing needed

  • Automatically tailored to tone of voice and product data

  • Faster time-to-market
Can I translate into multiple languages at once with the Translate module within PowerText?

Yes, you can select multiple target languages in the Translate module. You can assign a separate dictionary to each language to ensure consistent translations of brand-specific terms.

There is no limit in the amount of target languages you choose.

What is the difference between a replace dictionary and a language dictionary?

A replace dictionary replaces words within the same language. A language dictionary translates words from the source language to the target language. Both help maintain brand consistency in your content.

Example replace dictionary
Replace ‘natural’ with ‘organic’

Example language dictionary
Translate ‘natural’ to ‘organisch’

What is important when writing a good AI prompt?

A good prompt is essential to get high-quality AI-generated content. The clearer your instructions, the better the results.

Focus on the following aspects:

  • Clearly define the AI’s role (e.g., “write as an SEO copywriter”)

  • Provide context about your product, audience, or platform

  • Add structure using headings and bullet points

  • Specify tone of voice, language, and text length

  • Include examples to show what output you expect

A well-structured prompt helps the AI stay on track and reduces the risk of off-brand or irrelevant content.

How can you speed up your work with the Template module?

You can accelerate your workflow in the Template module by using reusable elements and AI support. This saves time and helps you work more efficiently, especially when managing large datasets or multiple sales channels.

Tips to speed up your work in the Template module:

  • Duplicate existing templates to quickly create new versions in other languages or for other platforms

  • Reuse sections and snippets across templates for consistency and efficiency

  • Use AI suggestions with keywords to generate relevant text variants faster

  • Add multiple text versions per section to create variety with minimal effort

  • Automate with conditions so your texts automatically adjust to product features like brand or material

These tools help you scale your content creation without compromising on quality or brand identity.

I’ve submitted a product. When will it be processed in PowerRelate?

When you add a product or upload a new file, PowerRelate will process it within fifteen to thirty minutes.
You will receive a notification once the analysis is complete and the AI has either created a new cluster or updated an existing one.
If processing takes longer than thirty minutes, please contact the support team.

When will my approved product be sent back to my system?

If you are using an API connection, the data will be sent back to your PIM system automatically as soon as a product relationship is approved.
If you are working with manual imports and exports, go to the Export tab to generate a file. You can then import this file into your PIM system.

How are clusters and relations built in PowerRelate?

Clusters are created automatically based on attributes and settings that you can configure in the Cluster Settings page.

There are two types of relationships to consider:

  • Clustering settings
  • Relation settings

More information is available in our guide ‘Managing and adjusting cluster settings‘.

What is an orphaned cluster?

An orphaned cluster contains only one product. PowerRelate was not able to find relevant relationships with other products in your catalog.
You may encounter orphaned clusters when the product has unique or incomplete data, when it does not yet fit into any existing groups based on your cluster settings, or when it is a new product that has not yet been analyzed alongside similar items.
You can show or hide orphaned clusters using the filter called “Hide orphaned clusters.”

What happens when you assign a product to a new cluster?

A product can belong to only one cluster at a time.
When you assign a product to a different cluster, it will automatically leave its previous cluster and become part of the new one.
All related relationships will be recalculated so that the cluster remains consistent with its new compositio

What does the status ‘Re-opened’ mean?

The status ‘Re-opened’ indicates that a cluster was previously marked as complete but has been opened again.

This happens, for example, when a new product is added or a change is made (reclustering) that affects the cluster. The cluster must then be reviewed again.
