Generating product descriptions with GenAI

What is GenAI?
GenAI allows you to efficiently generate product descriptions that are not only informative but also tailored to your brand. Instead of repeating the same templates, the AI analyzes your product data and guidelines to create unique and relevant copy for each product. This ensures a consistent tone of voice and writing style without any extra effort on your part.
Moreover, generative AI brings much more variety to your content: each product gets its own natural description that fits its characteristics perfectly. How to use GenAI
The step-by-step guide below shows you exactly how to use GenAI to generate brand-consistent product copy quickly and easily. Let’s dive in!
Upload your product data
- Click ‘Generative texts’ to open the GenAI module.
- Open the ‘Uploads’ tab.
- Click the ‘New upload’ button to open the upload window.
- Select the correct Excel file via the ‘Upload file’ field and name your upload.
- Double-check the selected features and unselect the features you don’t want to focus on.
- Indicate the column that contains the product image using the ‘Generate based on images’ field.
- Click ‘Save’ to store your upload.
Note: If you are using our API integration, uploading files is not necessary.
Create a profile
- Navigate to the ‘Profiles’ tab in the GenAI module.
- Click the ‘New profile’ button to open the profile window.
- Select the text type: Rich Text (HTML tags) or Plain Text.
- Select the language(s) you want to generate texts in.
- Set a minimum and maximum word count for your product descriptions.
- Add complete Copy Guidelines based on your preferences and brand requirements.
- Click "Save" to store your profile.

Note: If you select ‘Rich text’ an advanced setting to exclude <br/> tags enables.
Generate product descriptions
- Find the upload file you want to generate texts for in the ‘Uploads’ tab.
- Click the green ‘Configure and Run’ button in the ‘Actions’ column.
Review and export your product texts
- Click the "Download results" button in the ‘Actions’ column to download the results.
- Open the downloaded file and scroll to the “result::[language]” column.
- After checking the results, upload the filem in your PIM.
Note: If you are using our API integration, exporting files is not necessary. The results will appear directly in your PIM.
Tips for better results
- Make sure your product data is as complete as possible to improve AI-generated results.
- Experiment with different profiles to find the best style for your products.
- Fine-tune your prompt instructions to achieve better output quality.
