Using the Dictionaries feature

Goal: In this article, you’ll learn how to use PowerText’s Dictionaries feature to ensure your brand terminology is consistently reflected in your product descriptions.

What is the Dictionaries feature?

The Dictionaries feature allows you to automatically override standard translations with brand-specific terms, preferred phrasing, or consistent terminology. By uploading a custom dictionary with the original word or phrase in the first column and your preferred replacement in the second, you can ensure that specific terms such as brand names or slogans always appear exactly the way you want.

Open the Dictionary Feature

Create a new dictionary

There are two types of dictionaries, each with its own function:

Replace dictionary: for replacing words within the same language

Language dictionary: for translating words to a specific term in another language

Add words to your dictionary

Note: In a replace dictionary, you can toggle the ‘Match case’ option:
• Checked: the case from the original text is preserved
• Unchecked: the case from the ‘replace to’ field is always used

Add words via:

Create button: add words one by one

Upload button: upload an Excel file with all desired replacements

Use your dictionaries to generate product texts

For the GenAI module:
